ASERL is pleased to welcome Brandon Britt, Access Services Librarian at Duke University Libraries, to serve as Visiting Program Officer (VPO) for Leadership Development for 2024-2025. Brandon is a proud alumnus of the program — he participated in the inaugural institute in Miami in 2023 — and will take on a leadership role in online community building during his tenure as VPO.
“I look forward to serving as the ASERL Visiting Program Officer for the BIPOC Professional Development Networking Group,” commented Mr. Britt. “In my experience navigating academic and public library environments, I have witnessed the tremendous relational, communal, economic, and organizational value in giving thoughtful attention to fostering relationships and partnerships centered on sharing ideas. Serving as Visiting Program Officer is an ideal vehicle to leverage my passions, experience, and connections to accomplish this work on behalf of all the communities of which I am a part.”
“Brandon Britt is a wonderful addition to lead the continued expansion of this cohort-based leadership program,” commented John Burger, ASERL Executive Director. “He has had first-hand experience with the people and the programming, has great ideas for bringing in new people to the group, and dreams big about the future of research libraries. Brandon will be an excellent addition to our team, even if only for this limited-time VPO assignment. I am so pleased!”
