Cooperative Journal Retention

In 2009, ASERL  authorized a Study Group to consider options for sharing the workload of storing little-used library materials across the Association.  In February 2010, the Shared Storage Study group (SSSG) drafted a proposal for cooperatively retaining sets of little-used print journalsas a first step in this program.  A series of webinars was offered to elicit input from the membership.  The proposal received positive feedback from ASERL library directors at the Spring 2010 Membership Meeting.

ASERL is convening an Interim Steering Committee to review the draft proposal further and identify the policies and processes needed for implementation.  The Interim Steering Committee will present findings at the Fall 2010 membership Meeting.
