For more than 50 years, the Association of Southeastern
Research Libraries has brought together leaders from research and state
libraries in the region to foster a high standard of library excellence through
inter-institutional resource sharing and other collaborative efforts. Today,
ASERL is the largest regional research library consortium in the United
States. By working together, ASERL members continue to provide and
maintain top quality resources and services for the students, faculty, and
citizens of their respective communities.
ASERL-Auburn Forum on User Studies for Research Libraries -- July 31, 2008
ASERL is partnering with Auburn University to host a
one-day seminar to review and discuss the implications of user studies
within the research library environment. Librarians and staff
from ASERL institutions are invited to participate -- the registration form is available here. The working agenda is available here. The seminar will take place on The Georgia Tech campus on July 31, 2008. A list of nearby hotels and local travel information is available here.
NOTE:
Registration is limited to 100 participants from ASERL libraries,
on a first-come/first-served basis. Early registration is advised.

ASERL Feedback to GPO on Challenges Facing FDLP Libraries
On May 13, ASERL submitted this letter
to the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) in response to their
request for information about the challenges facing Regional and
Selective Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) libraries.
The content was drafted with input from Regional and Selective
libraries from across the region.
On June 13, ASERL submitted this letter to GPO in support of their draft report on this matter.
